Hi Everyone:As some of you aware, we need to talk about GRAD Photos for our site. I know its clearly November...and we graduate in June, but FESA is very adamant on providing them with a date to have our grad photos taken. The bad news is: We have to get them done before January!!!!! (If anything I have been told we can go as far as Early-Mid January...but this hasn't been clarified yet).So I propose tomorrow, that we have a vote on two "proposed" dates. I'll bring them up tomorrow. Friday November 13thFriday November 20th*The other time slots can be in January...but there isn't much clarification on this. I will talk to the FESA V.P. tonight about this possibility!* (The other issue is that we have our Intermediate placement....during this time)Most likely, I find that doing our grad photos on a Friday prior to our 1:00pm class for the day is the best possible outcome. Being that we have approx. 42 students in our class, and each person is 10 minutes long for photo taking, this might be the best way. Again, if possible, I would like to talk about this prior to our Models of Education class tomorrow (Tuesday). Considering we start out practicum November 25th, there is not much time between now and then! The other bad news is that we don't really have time to discuss and figure it out...as Reid and myself have to report to FESA by Tuesday AFTERNOON! So that's why I propose talking about this in the morning! Thanks for your cooperation and see you all tomorrow.P.S. If no one is interested in taking their pictures that's perfectly fine, it is not mandatory!
Hey guys!! Just wanted to share a teaching resource that I thought might be useful for you all... http://www.survivethrive.on.ca/ ...you can become a member and the site includes discussions around classroom management including tips for working with certain students in the classroom, teaching strategies, working with parents, occasional teaching, assessment, plus subject-related content. There are also RESOURCES including games!! Hope this of interest to you!! Lizz :)
Hey guys it's Mabel - Just wanted to bring this to your attention: Resumes, CV's, teaching profiles, Cover Letters, Letters of Recommendation etc. (all the important stuff you need when applying for a job) should be prepared early BECAUSE the Toronto District School Board accepts applications as early as January for the following September. I don't know how other boards work but from what I've been told TDSB starts very early and they will consider Teacher Candidates (conditionally of course). So I think it's worth while to at least think about preparing for job interviews now.ALSO --- if you have no idea how to use this page, this link is EXCELLENT ~ Yeah Youtube :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dnL00TdmLY
Hello, this is Diana. My mentor teacher sent me this link and I thought I'd pass this along. At the lower part of this page; http://edu.yorku.ca/mentor/faqs.html there are templates that can be used to help with your teaching block. Thanks.

I haven't found how to do this with the DINER page, and it might not be possible. In the meantime you can subscribe to things onto your own DINER page, you just have to keep up with it.--Reid
